
SNAILS: ten years of Vomitstep
Montreal native, SNAILS has cemented himself as a leading figure in international bass music. Father of his own sub-genre, SNAILS’ Vomitstep embraces trap rhythms and off-kilter sound design, curating a deeply original form of dance music. His debut album and first-full production tour, THE SHELL (2017), was greeted with widespread critical acclaim, hitting number one album on iTunes Electronic. Billboard described the work as “a totally outrageous collection of grimy sounds and mosh pit motivation.” Also, the album was added to Spotify’s Mint playlist, the platform’s most important Electronic Music playlist.
2017, the artist launched his first festival titled SLUGGTOPIA at Colorado’s Red Rocks Venue on October 6th, 2017. The festival was a tremendous success, selling out to 10,000 eager fans, and further solidifying SNAILS’ place amongst the elite of the EDM musical industry.
Embraced by his contemporaries, SNAILS has collaborated with the likes of Skrillex, Jack Ü, Flux Pavillion, NGHTMRE, Collie Buddz, Waka Flocka Flame and Zeds Dead. In 2018, SNAILS continued to push boundaries in musical production and visual art with the launch of his very own SLUGZ MUSIC label. The first release on Slugz Music was «Shake The Ground», a collaboration between Snails and Kill the Noise. Other notable recent releases include SLIMEAGGEDON EP (2018) and WORLD OF SLIME (2019).
The artist has toured four major continents, released over 35 singles, surpassed 130 million streams and delivered over 500 international performances; gracing renowned EDM stages at Coachella, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland Belgium, Bonnaroo and more.
2020 marks a significant year of introspection for the artist. Entirely produced during the global pandemic. The artist released the song Deathmatch in March, in collaboration with SVDDEN DEATH which has received support from some of the biggest names in EDM. He also released the FRONT 2 BACK music video and WORLD OF SLIME REMIX EP in May.
SNAILS released SLIME TIME EP part 1 in March 2021 and SLIME TIME EP part 2 in August 2021. The EPs coincide with a complete rebranding and reimagined social media strategy. The EPs had an amazing response from fans counting more than 2.4 million streams on Spotify.
At the end of 2021, SNAILS contributed to one of Slugz Music label artists, Hi I’m Ghost with their Death Rail Remix EP. The vomitstep proprietor invites ravers to his reworked “Death Rail (SNAILS Slime Rail Remix)” in thrilling fashion allowing no mercy for supporters new and old.
After Parts 1 and 2, SNAILS completed the SLIME TIME trilogy with SLIME TIME, PT. 3, carrying the series into its final chapter before the release of HELIX.
SNAILS marks 10 years of a dazzling career! With a fanbase of over 1.4 million people, 550 international shows, 90 singles and 150 million streams under his belt. Committed to making 2022 his biggest year yet regarding career releases, SNAILS launched his second album, HELIX, on November 4th. A back-to-basics album where the artist is the sole producer, accompanied by a wide variety of vocalists.
The HELIX chapter continued with official remixes of “Satellite,” “Flying” and “Black and Blue.” SNAILS then followed with “B.A.S.S.,” a collaboration with PIERCE featuring Ella Eve, carrying the project’s heavy bass sound forward while remaining rooted in Vomitstep.
Between HELIX and B.A.S.S., SNAILS launched ESCARGOT, a house alias, and released “Set Fire,” “KILLA,” “Is This Even Dubstep!?,” “RUCKUS,” “FROGGO,” “Rampage,” “Arcane Ooze,” “Bodies,” “Bass Face” and “Insane.” These releases expanded the project through dubstep, metal and house collaborations with artists including Hyro the Hero, Chime, NITTI, Stained With Silver, Hi I’m Ghost and Whales.
Following B.A.S.S., the catalog continued with “SHELLSHOCK,” “Underworld,” “EMBRACE THE UNKNOWN,” “IN PEACE YOU SHALL LIVE” and “THE SIGNAL.” The five-track Underworld Remixes EP arrived in 2026, followed by “MINDBREAKER.”
